Prayer for the Year of the Priest
Good and Gracious God,
Through your priests, your people are sanctified and invited into the mysteries of Christ, your Son.
We thank you for the gift of the priesthood to your Church, and we thank you for the generous service of our faithful priests.
Fill them with a spirit of joy in their ministry and life.
We pray also for those that you are calling into service even now, give to them an openness to your will and a love for your holy people.
May all your priests be renewed in holiness through the example of St. John Vianney, and filled with the fire of your love.
May they seek nothing but your greater glory, and daily, be renewed in their consecration for the salvation of the world.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

YEAR OF PRIESTS – SPECIAL ROSARY
On June 19, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI designated the year ending on June 19, 2010 as “The Year of Priests”. The fundamental reason for a jubilee for priests is “to deepen the commitment of all priests to interior renewal”. We as parishioners are encouraged to pray for all priests and for vocations to the priesthood. In view of this request, we are being asked to pray a special rosary for priests throughout the remainder of the year. Copies of this special rosary are available at the church and the parish office.
